When technology improves, so should our ability to provide people with educational opportunities. As our 3D printing company in Seattle has discussed previously, the revolutionary technology offered in 3D printers represents a great potential educational resource for schools and individuals. This is why it is heartening to see the recent efforts of the MakerLab Club.
The MakerLab Club is a group of libraries and museums that are working to promote digital literacy and education. Part of this project involves providing free 3D printers for public use. A library or museum who qualifies for their program needs only to register with 3D Systems to be considered as a recipient of up to four Cube 3D Printers.
The printers distributed through this program come with an educational curriculum and materials. Underprivileged children who may not even have home internet access can then take an engaging look into the science, mathematics, and career possibilities posed by additive manufacturing technology.
If your organization qualifies for this program, visit the application page on the 3D Systems website to apply for your own equipment.
