The FDM Process
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing technique which uses different types of thermoplasitc materials for modeling, prototyping, and production applications.
Additive manufacturing is achieved by laying down material to successively build up into a shape. This is considered distinct from traditional machining techniques, which mostly rely on the removal of material, know as a subtractive process.
FDM produces strong parts using production-grade thermoplastics. Each type of thermoplastic material has different properties that can enhance the quality of your part.
