People are always looking for new ways to capture their precious memories, and 3D printing is providing us all with exciting new possibilities. One such innovation is coming to us from Jason Lee, a Massachusetts man that has come up with a new concept for rendering your pictures into chocolate.
Lee’s “ChocoForm” technique involves converting a photograph into a layered 3D object, which is then printed out with a 3D printer. This object is then used to create a negative with PETG plastic. The negative then serves as a mold to print the image into chocolate. The final product is as fine and detailed as it is delicious.
Unfortunately, while Lee is rich in innovation, he does not yet have access to his own high quality 3D printer. To fund his venture, Lee has taken to Kickstarter with the goal of raising $10,000. Contributors can purchase their own chocolate photographs, or even the plastic molds to make their own chocolate photographs.
