If you’re plugged in to the 3D printing world, you’re probably already familiar with the 3Doodler. Marketed as the world’s first 3D printing pen, this handy little gadget lets people “draw” in strips of plastic “ink”, effectively allowing you to create your own 3D models without the need for any CAD skills. This pen has been fairly well-received by consumers, and now the company is rolling out the 3Doodler 2.0.
The new pen was unveiled along with the Kickstarter for the project, which had already exceeded its goal several times over within its first day. Backers are being rewarded with the new pen, packs of plastic ink, and more.
Fans of the original pen are excited about the changes being introduced in the new pen. Though affordable and easy to use, the first 3Doodler was large and cumbersome for most users. The 2.0 comes in at half the weight of the original, and only a quarter of the size. On top of this, users can look forward to greater power efficiency, a redesigned nozzle and drive system, as well as an innovative “double-click” function that allows for continuous flow.
