3D Printing Shakes Up the Toy Industry

February 24, 2014

The potential of 3D printing in the world of commercial toy manufacturing is no mystery. Our Seattle 3D printing company is encouraged to see this potential finally being tapped in a big way by Hasbro.

Hasbro, the company behind such popular toy products as Transfomers, Star Wars, Playskool, and Parker Brothers, recently announced that it has partnered with a large 3D printing company to start producing toys via 3D printing. Not only will they be able to bring innovative 3D printing-based products into educational play areas, but 3D printing technology could revolutionize the company’s production methods. Up until now, Hasbro’s manufacturing has been largely conducted overseas in controversial East Asian facilities with poor oversight and labor abuses. Low-cost 3D printing methods could bring this manufacturing back to the domestic scene.
