e-NABLE Making 3D Printed Prosthetics More Accessible

June 15, 2015

One of the great boons of 3D printing technology has come in the form of printable prosthetics, which have proven to be an affordable and accessible alternative to traditional prosthetics. Today, 3D printing company e-NABLE is working to make its low-cost prosthetics even more available to people who need them. They are accomplishing this with a new partnership with industry leader 3D Systems, with whom they are developing printable prosthetic files that can be digitally distributed throughout the country.

Via the e-NABLE network, individuals in need of a prosthetic can be connected to somebody with an appropriate 3D printer in their area. They are then able to customize their own prosthetic from the organization’s designs with the use of the Hand-O-Matic app. The designs are provided for free, along with a tutorial video on how to assemble the device. For more information, visit the e-NABLE website..
